NDT Corporation: A Legacy of Quality and Innovation
NDT Corporation was founded in 1994 by Paul Fisk and Richard Holt. Colleagues for two decades at Weston Geophysical, Paul and Dick developed world-class expertise in seismic risk analysis for nuclear power plants. During that tenure, they pioneered the discovery that these same rigorous geophysical testing protocols could be adapted to determine the internal condition and structural strength of concrete.
They launched NDT Corporation with a clear mission: to apply proven geophysical survey methods to the evaluation of critical civil infrastructure. By providing owners and engineers with high-fidelity data and exceptional customer service, the firm quickly established itself as a leader in the field.
Throughout our 30+ year history, NDT’s growth has been defined by the addition of key technical staff who have advanced both their own professional standing and the company’s capabilities. Principal members Ben Armitage (joined 1996), Keith Holster (1997), and Tim Westerlind (2005) remain the backbone of today’s operations. With over 75 years of combined experience in complex data collection and analysis, these experts have set a benchmark for excellence in non-destructive testing that remains unmatched in the industry. They are proud to carry on the legacy of our founders while playing an instrumental role in shaping our technical future.
Paul Fisk retired in 2021, following a leadership transition that began in 2017 when William Horne stepped in to lead NDT Corporation. Having previously worked at CHA, Bill frequently retained NDT Corporation as a subcontractor for testing services. Bill possessed a long-standing professional relationship with Paul, Ben, Keith, and Tim. His deep familiarity with the team’s specialized culture and technical rigor made him the natural choice to lead this highly experienced firm into its next chapter.
Innovation Through Proprietary Technology
Since our inception, NDT Corporation has remained at the forefront of non-destructive technology by adhering to a simple philosophy: If the existing tools aren't good enough, we build better ones. Our commitment to accuracy and efficiency has led us to develop proprietary systems that set us apart. Central to our diagnostic toolkit is our proprietary Impact Echo and Pulse Velocity (IE/PV) system. This advanced equipment simultaneously collects IE/PV data to assess reinforced concrete for delamination, voids, and cracking while providing in-situ compressive strength—all in a single pass. This same system has been refined to be one of the industry's most efficient and accurate methods for locating grout voids within post-tension (PT) ducts.
Our reputation for innovation led to a partnership with the Federal Railroad Administration, where NDT Corporation developed an automated railroad crosstie inspection tool. This specialized non-destructive method allows for the rapid assessment of the internal condition of concrete crossties, ensuring safety along critical rail corridors. NDT continues to invest in the research and development of advanced technologies to solve the most complex infrastructure challenges.

NDT Today: Technical Expansion & Global Reach
Today, NDT Corporation is experiencing a period of unprecedented growth. We have strategically expanded our personnel, incorporating a new generation of engineers and technicians to meet the evolving needs of the infrastructure market. Our inventory of diagnostic equipment has continued to evolve in capability and quantity to meet our customer’s requirements. This expansion has allowed us to broaden our geographic footprint far beyond our original borders; in addition to the USA, NDT Corporation’s technologies and services are also available in Canada, the United Kingdom and the Middle East.
NDT Tomorrow: Insight for Infrastructure
Looking toward tomorrow, NDT Corporation remains committed to the principles that Paul and Dick established in 1994: Expertise, Quality, and Service. As infrastructure ages and engineering challenges become more complex, we will continue to push the boundaries of NDE technology. Our goal is to remain the first choice for engineers and asset owners who require more than just "scanning"—they require a partner who can interpret the invisible and provide the actionable data necessary for a safer, more durable built environment.
