Wall Testing

NDT uses nondestructive testing results to assist engineers to determine as-built thickness and reinforcing of existing concrete and masonry walls and abutments, as well as quality assurance of building techniques and materials for new walls. We use sonic/ultrasonic pulse velocity data to determine the integrity/strength of concrete in the wall and identify areas of internal honeycombing, cracking and voiding. These results along with GPR data indicating reinforcing layers, spacing and depth of cover provide engineers and inspectors with the data they need to make a comprehensive evaluation of a wall's or abutment's structural integrity and capability.
